While the resulting video may be viewed as an amateur's exploration, it served as a crucial milestone in our learning journey, allowing us to apply fundamental principles of video production. Just as the universe began as a single point of energy and continues to expand outward, my drawings start as simple circles and radiate outward, multiplying endlessly. I am fascinated by the way that things spread in nature, both physically and metaphorically. Trees spread their branches towards the sky, bacteria spread across petri dishes, and cities spread outward from their centers. Even our doubts and insecurities can be seen as a kind of spreading, as they grow and grow until they consume us. My drawings capture the slow, steady, and relentless process of spreading. They are a reminder that even the smallest of things has the potential to grow and expand, and that our actions and choices have the power to impact the world around us. <img width="2048" disconnection. In the absence of daily human interaction, even my sense of existing within reality began to fade. These collages were born from a yearning for others—a reaching out through imagined faces and forms, an attempt to materialize connection where none could be found. The human silhouettes featured in this series were generated using AI. Although I approach such technologies with hesitation—particularly in the context of artistic expression—it was, paradoxically, through these anonymous, mass-produced images that I felt the closest to the human figure at that time. By layering fragile images and fragments of actual photographs onto these synthetic forms, I sought to bridge the divide between memory and imagination, the real and the unreal. The process became a quiet confrontation with the sense of my own existence dissolving into the generic contours of algorithmically generated bodies. This work is not a celebration of AI. On the contrary, it emerges from a deep ambivalence. Confronting the neutral, depersonalized aesthetic of machine-generated imagery made me more acutely aware of the loss of individuality, and of the aching absence of real human presence. The only visible human figures I could grasp were digital ones—and within that lies a quiet grief. This series is both a record and a prayer: an exploration of the tension between the longing to exist, and the urge to retreat into unreality when reality fails to hold us. <img width="2560" From an early age, they immersed themself in art and music, learning instruments such as the clarinet, piano, drums, and guitar, nurturing a sensitivity for translating complex emotions into sound and image. They later studied video expression and theory at university, and have since deepened their creative practice through hands-on experience in video production and editing, blending visual and sonic elements into their work. Suzuki's artistic activities span a range of forms—from singer-songwriter and composer to videographer, draughtsman, and drag performer—but they are all unified by a consistent underlying theme: the search for identity and belonging, and the act of giving shape to inner memory and emotional landscapes through artistic expression. In music, Suzuki explores emotional terrain through sound, words, and visuals, constructing immersive narratives that reflect pain, isolation, and the flickers of hope that emerge from them. In contrast, their drawing practice embraces a more abstract, nonverbal approach. These works often manifest as intricate, instinctive patterns composed of ballpoint pen lines—repetitive, proliferating, eroding—evoking bacterial growth in a petri dish, topographic maps, or expanding fields of anxiety. The act of drawing becomes a kind of ritual, a necessary process for mapping the intangible and tracing the contours of internal states. In recent years, Suzuki has also developed a deep interest in fragrance as a sensory medium for recalling memory and evoking atmosphere.
